How do I get mpegs/avis and other videos to play on my nokia 6126?

I am trying to get PC based videos to play on my nokia 6126, but the phone says file format is not supported. I know there are converters to download to change the format on the pc before I transfer the file to the phone, but I can’t figure out which converter to download. Please if you have a good answer write it down Barney style. I am not tech savvy at all. Thanks.
I have to give the best answer to Cast, the TVC would convert to my phone’s format. It would only play audio. The neoretix website’s converter worked. Thank you both for answering!
