I am going on vacation for the first time in over a decade! Should I use my car insurance or the rental company’s insurance? Thanks for the answers!

Call your insurance agent and verify they cover you in a rental car. If they do then no sense paying extra to the rental company.

Before you decide, contact your insurer and ask what they cover and do not cover. Also, check with your credit card company that you will be using to see if they offer any coverage. they typically offer Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance.
