When renting a car, will my personal liability auto ins cover damage done to the car i hit and the rental car?

I have never rented a car before. I have liability ins for my car and wasnt sure if you had to have full coverage for both the rental car and the other car damaged to be covered. Basically do i need to get rental ins through the car rental company?

      Check with your insurance company. If you have full coverage then rental car insurance is a waste of money. BUT check with your agent.
